Nine Things That Your Parent Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a method to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.
Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of its leveled up perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.
Item level is a widely used measurement of power and can be found on all item tooltips. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at lower levels. The average level of the item can be found on the character sheet.
Utilizing the level of an item can help players evaluate the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's a good indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it is able to deal. The item upgrader kit level can also be used to compare items when looking at a vendor's inventory.
On your PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are a few theories on how the calculation of an item's level is done. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different worth and gems in sockets increase the overall value of the item. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is usually very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.
However, this isn't the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, as the level of the area the item upgrader mod is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The item's stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the best." The stat mods of an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by the player's level.
The upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with more expensive costs.
Another way to change the stats of an item is through affixes. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding a special name to the item.
Currently, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it's a unique item or a God roll from a boss of a raid.
Another thing that could change is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to enhance. As with base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is especially useful in the early game, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability, which increases with each level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor, and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.
Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that causes damage by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop or created using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item in the event that it is not successful.
The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.
The Luck of an item upgrades can affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an initial success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional five percent.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects can be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
