They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.
It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also quiet and can be used while you are at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of minutes.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings prior to work or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and better-looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however it's going to cost you more and make more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors.
