A robot vacuum will keep your floors tidy enough to reduce the frequency of manual hoovering. Find one that has good navigation, can sweep corners and stairs and also has a large dust bin that requires emptying only once in a while.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a good choice for people who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but don't mind taking the time to empty their robot's trash bin when it fills up.
Both robots are good in removing dirt and dust particles on hard floors and carpets and can maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test. It may be stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it left off. The battery's lifespan is around an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to charge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot vacuum cleaner industrial using the app or voice.
In our testing the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our top choice which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin that removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.
We were also impressed by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to begin or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car that is amidst a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households however, it can also fit nicely on the table for a coffee or a bookshelf where you can wave it around like a magic tool.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. It quickly switches from handheld to floor vacuum and back again.
The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments and a wand clip. This is a major improvement over previous Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its limited running time. The claims of its marketing that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are not true as CR's tests show. This is a typical, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. This is enough time to vacuum a typical-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second run generally works). However, this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more maneuverable than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming efficiency is superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums the 694 is a basic model that's an excellent option for those who don't want to invest too much on a robotic vacuum cleaners. It's capable of sucking up a variety of debris types and sizes during our testing, and it frequently goes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it reach into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice feature.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and navigate your home. It's not equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, including our top rated Robot vacuum picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. It can get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects because it has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistance. The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior customizations, docking frequency settings and much more. The app is simple to learn and use as are other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It did not do well in avoiding taller objects like cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models we've tested, and this could be a deal breaker for certain shoppers.
The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the cheap robot vacuum's cleaning zone. This feature lets you to monitor your children or pets when you are away. The filter and dustbin can be cleaned for quick, easy cleanup. The app allows you to steer the robot manually when needed. My living room rug for example is darkly colored that could cause trouble for other robots. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, but it didn't register it as an incline. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
