Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've ever wanted to get a robot vacuum, now's your chance. CNET's top-rated models will be on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with discounts up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with apps-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also self-empties and refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. The most significant innovation is its camera-based obstacle detection system. This uses AI to identify objects like charging cords and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across so you can tell it to avoid it in the future.
The Combo j7+ is also the best robot to mop we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt effortlessly without leaving any trace that was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. It can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep in areas you don’t want. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop using your voice.
The design is also superior to the competition. It has a sleek, top piece that resembles toys rather than a loud and obnoxious robot. The Clean Base automatic floor cleaners Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying, which is great to speed up cleaning.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ swiftly eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it on the floor. It even managed to capture sand and small gravel which other robots aren't able to do. It did all this without getting tangled up in our pet's shedding hair.
While it's not quite as sophisticated as the Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs, the j7+ is still a solid option for those who need both a vac and a mop in their home. It's not expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and often it's difficult to tell whether the update is working until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors then a hybrid is the best robot vacuum choice. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank, meaning they can both vacuum and mop your home at the same time. These bots also have a variety of extra features, including smart mapping and small object avoidance and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they tend to be expensive at retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.
Roborock has some of our top robot vacuum cleaner robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. Although it might not have some of the more premium features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories), it's still an excellent choice when you're willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes down to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it an ideal choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It is also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is a area where many robot vacuums that are less expensive aren't able to meet. The Q5+'s navigation system is top-quality, with a few misses along walls or in corners.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled using the buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.
If you decide to go with the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock that's specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once it's installed, the process of emptying the bin is simple. It has a large LCD screen which is helpful when setting up schedules and changing settings. This feature isn't required for everyone, but it can help you easily keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and function are some of the most advanced available however it's expensive.
The base station looks nice and is hidden when it's not in use, and its size is quite compact. But the station's biggest selling feature is the way it automatizes numerous tasks and functions that most other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that do an excellent job of cleaning up debris from unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the home. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and isn't equipped with a dock to create a cleaning area for plush carpets.
While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive Robot Vacuum Near Me vacuum and mop that's worth the higher price cost.
If you're looking for a way to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are many other options available. Many eufy models cost substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is a bit more expensive, but offers many more features, like stair climbing and a full-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors carpets with low pile and even high-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy is an Anker company that has an established track record of making robot vacuums that have the right balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at an affordable price point. It's simple to set up, simply attach one of the side brush and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be located near an outlet with plenty of room to move.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and can be placed under sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design is a little less flashy than some of the rival models, with sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.
The main feature that makes the G30 apart from its competitors is the method it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects in its path, remembering what it's already cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. It then returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning where it left off.
The sleek G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring expenses, charges faster and offers similar battery life while offering better performance on bare floors and carpets with a low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as often and comes with a set of boundaries that keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister does not require emptying as often and it has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
