The best automatic vacuum cleaner Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers can be a great option for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their list of things to do. Some models have superior mapping and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other options on this list which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.

It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one motion. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help to tease out dirt from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful in difficult corners or on baseboards. Those same front arms can also be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest Robot Vacuums That Mop vacuums and mops I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to install and is effective, but it's something you'll need to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners looking to purchase a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This results in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite quick.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching an array of surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to the walls or other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen the odors.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it should make, which will affect how fast the device will move through your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.

This device has a fairly high price tag but comes with a large selection of advanced features. It is important to note, however, that the device is subject to recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and the mop pads must be changed every three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or just want to have a clean home without spending a lot of time on chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid option. It has powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home clean with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot cleaner with mop vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping unit that has microfiber pads. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated, but they do mean you don't have to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.

Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to keep certain areas of your house from being cleaned with mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able capture the majority of hair that shed by our cats and even found its way into the nooks and crannys of our stairs while other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some pleasant jingles that signalled when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The biggest flaws were its simple app and the need to change between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app cannot store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum with mop vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it has distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most notable for its huge dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start cleaning and then recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on a child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert in its application.

Another potential downside is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad isn't washed or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a big change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
