Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals

If you've always wanted to buy a robot vacuum now is the time to get one. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday and can save you up to 57%.

The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. The most significant advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It makes use of AI to detect objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to send you pictures of the objects that it encounters, so you can instruct the robot to stay clear of it.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we've ever tested. It removes dirt and spills easily, leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning times and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't sweep areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it by voice.

Its design is a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that looks more like a toy rather than a loud, loud one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests, we observed that the j7+ was quick to eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering all over the floor. It even could capture sand and small gravel which other robots couldn't do. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.

The j7+, while not as smart as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and isn't able to clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who need both a vacuum and a mop. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly.

While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update is working until you've seen it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the best affordable robot vacuum choice is probably a hybrid. This category of bots typically has a built-in water tank, meaning they can both vacuum and mop your house simultaneously. They also come with a variety of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. The negative is that they can be expensive when purchased at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.

Roborock is one of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it lacks some of the premium features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes down to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an excellent option for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is a problem which many robot vacuums be a bit sloppy. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is superb and has very few missing in corners and along walls.

Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, design virtual barrier and no-go areas and alter your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you choose to purchase the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock designed specifically to make this machine easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's in place the process of emptying the bin is simple. It also features an impressive LCD display that is great to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This isn't a necessity for most people however it will assist you in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and functionality are some of the most advanced available however, it's also expensive.

Its base station looks good and hides it when not in use, and the size is relatively compact. But the station's main selling point is how it automates many tasks and functions that other robots will leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot charged and clean.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robot remote vacuum I've tried that does a good job picking up debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it could get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.

Although it doesn't have as many in terms of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for a comprehensive robot automated vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price cost.

If you're looking to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options available. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides an identical experience on the app with additional features such as stairs, a fully-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning on hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at an affordable price point. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock should be located near an outlet with plenty of room to move.

The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, so it will fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. The design is more modest than other models, and features a sleek black finish and three physical buttons: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which cleans the area in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning robots tasks that are not scheduled.

The most important aspect that distinguishes the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and what it isn't able to access. When it needs to recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning from where it started.

The sleek G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better constructed, has lower recurring costs, is charged more quickly and has the same battery life. It also offers better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It has a larger dust bin that does not require more emptying. It also comes with border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't need emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating heavy materials such as cereal.
