However, unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we test the i3+ does not have any obstacle-avoidance features, so it may get stuck on things like socks or power cords and may have issues in navigating through transitions between surfaces, such as from hardwood to rug.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it may encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or the battery is empty it goes back to its docking station and automatically emptying its trash into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning the area where it began. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes three hours to fully charge.

The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying, which removes a major source of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the buy robot vacuum cleaner to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After connecting, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The V10's main drawback is its short running time. The tests conducted by CR show that its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of a home that's average size however, it's not enough to cover every area (though the second time around usually will suffice). That's not to say this model isn't a good choice: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of the most well-known robot vacuums the 694 is an entry-level model that's a good option for those who don't want to spend too much money on a robot. It was able to pick up all kinds of debris and sizes in our tests, and frequently went over the same area multiple times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps to get into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice feature.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more advanced models like our top picks such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series.
