The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors They are also adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's thus susceptible to become stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.
It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work, or going to school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.

It also features self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and set up zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to organize the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
