Why We Love Robot Vac And You Should Also
Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency with which you have to manually vacuum. Find one that has an easy navigation, can clean corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that has to be emptied only once in a while.
You can also find models that mop and charge on their own which can be important for people with pets or kids. The top performers in our tests also have decent obstacle avoidance.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. That makes the i3+ an excellent option for those who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of manually emptying their robot vacuum cleaners's dustbin as it gets full.
Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they're very adept at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It may get stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filters clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully recharge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most crucial feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot using voice or through the app.
The i7+ is quicker and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room and vacuum the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a world of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households and can fit nicely on the coffee table or shelves where you can move it around like the magic device.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to suit the task being performed. It can quickly change from automatic floor cleaner vacuum to handheld vacuum, and vice versa.
This model has an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also gives easy access to 2 attachments as well as the wand. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons models, that require a long charge and are a pain to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a common battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is still enough to get rid of the majority of a typical-sized home however, it's not enough to cover every area (though a second run-through usually can be effective). That's not to say this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums The 694 is a basic model that's a good option for those who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It was able to remove most types of debris and sizes during our tests and would often go over the same area several times to give an efficient clean. Its flat front side helps it reach into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice touch.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top rated robot vacuum selections such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. This means that it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it frequently runs out of battery power before making it back to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower recurring cost and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better move itself. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.
The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, because it has a longer battery life, can change its suction power mode manually and has physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more durable and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on both bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as offering a wider range of automation features.

Samsung is a name is found on all kinds of electronic gadgets for your home, so it comes as no surprise that they're one of the most popular robotic vacuum and mop makers. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and more. It's easy to comprehend and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. It was not as successful in avoiding taller items such as cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we tried, which might be a problem for some shoppers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access via the app, and you can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you check in on pets or children when you're away from home. The dustbin and filter can be washed for quick, easy cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ also has a clean station that's self-emptying and helps keep the robot's trash bin clean and maximizes suction power for each cleaning run.
6. Black & Decker robot vacuum cleaner ebay Vacuum
Contrary to other robotic vacuum cleaner reviews vacuums which are designed for both carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds twice as much debris than competitors to keep the cleaning area free of debris for the longest period of time. Plus, they include two side sweepers that clean up around edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which detects the presence of dirt or debris on the surface and then automatically adjusts its power level. The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot in the event of need. My living room rug, for example has a dark-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, without registering it as a cliff. The ability to program a weekly cleaning robot price schedule for each week is a time-saving convenience.
