The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can direct your robot using the app or voice.

In our testing the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin which removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room, and even vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a world of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels clean air back into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to collect large particles and fine dust. It has three suction modes to match the task that is being completed. It can quickly switch from floor robot vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

It was able to remove all kinds of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area several times for a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top selections and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. As a result, it may get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently is power-depleted before making it back to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs and has more advanced automation abilities and is able to better move itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.
