Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection states that over time, animals that are better able to adapt biologically to changing environments survive and those that do not become extinct. Science is concerned with the process of biological evolution.

What is Evolution?

The word evolution can have many nonscientific meanings. For example, it can mean "progress" and "descent with modifications." It is an academic term that is used to describe the process of change of traits over time in organisms or species. In biological terms this change is due to natural selection and genetic drift.

Evolution is a central tenet of modern biology. It is an accepted theory that has stood up to the test of time and thousands of scientific studies.
