The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which comprises linoleum flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, as well as large rugs and a medium-pile. It easily drove close to walls without hitting them and even managed to traverse thresholds that were raised in the room without problem, although it sometimes struggled to get down stairs in a single pass. The S1 also did an excellent job cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on the flat side against the floor and then lifting itself when it was near carpet or rug.
Before each mopping session, the docking station of the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and fills up its water tank with clean filtered ozonated water. The dock provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1's water tank can hold enough water for around twelve cleaning sessions before it needs to be emptied, though this can vary based on how often you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. To do this, you'll need to rinse out the water tank that is dirty regularly to keep it from becoming clogged. You will also need to clean your sensor and swivel wheel frequently to avoid them becoming blocked by dust or dirt. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

Its navigation capabilities are solid as well, though it does sometimes get hung in the small area mats or rugs that I have in my house (which is something you can reduce by creating a virtual border within the app). Mopping capabilities are very good with a pair of spinning mop heads that can lift and scrub the floor instead of simply dragging the pad across it. The mops can be cleaned using heated water and dried in the basestation when needed. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as required.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop were released earlier in the year. However, their latest flagship model comes with even more impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-off maintenance, making it a clear contender for our top robot vacuum cleaner best vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition, and an extended side brush ensure an efficient, customized clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, removing fine and large debris from both hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our tests' dirtiest areas well, avoiding tangled pet hairs and other messes. The sweeping power of the machine is enhanced by a sidebrush that swings out in order to reach hard-to-reach areas, and mop pads that extend across baseboards.
