1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They have motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also have a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it clean quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept in removing pet hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good value for those whose home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used while you are at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also features a self-emptying dustbin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic cleaner and mop hoover for carpets, but it falls behind some competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

You can modify its cleaning schedule and set up zones using the app that is well-designed. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to take off and extend its mops. This helps prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm is perfect to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of flooring and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums it, something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite loud that could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you attempt to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and look better. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable, but it's more expensive and make more noise.

Finally the recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is great for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you'd imagine from its price. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to organize the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean the area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuum cleaners uk vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that's not as intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
