For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used when you're at work or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in seconds.

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
