How to Replace an audi spare Key Cost G28 Engine Speed Sensor

The sensor is situated at the top of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a signal to the ECU via a grey wire (T55/49) and then to the tachometer located in the instrument cluster.
1. Engine Speed Sensor
The grey wire is located on the edge of transmission, just above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU utilizes this information to regulate fuel and boost. It also sends an alert to the G5 Tachometer within the instrument cluster.
The sensor is used to connect the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu has to know when the crankshaft reached TDC and also where the camshaft lies so that it can activate the spark and injectors.
If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of line with the Intake Camshaft. It could also indicate the possibility of a chain stretch or jump in the chain link of the upper chain of timing. The code will not appear without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).
It's a bit tricky to test since there are different pins on the connector, and each one has different functions. The best way to do it is by measuring the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is fully functional, it should read approximately 1000 ohms. If you are having problems with this sensor, look for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a massive drop in power. It was like the engine was running out of gas. Or, my injectors were not firing. I took out the spark plugs this morning, three were soaked with gasoline and the 4th was dry. I put tissue over each injector hole, and when I start the engine without sparks, the three with gazoline jump out. The fourth one remains closed. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got zero ohm. I'm assuming the issue is somewhere else.
I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it is running fine with the G28 connected. However the intermittent misfire issue still occurs at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature of that is -49c even after unplugging it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar but the actual pressure is 0.
I don't know what to do. I believe that I've eliminated everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. Please let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump of the g28 gets a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter functions similarly to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate a spare in a wrecking shop or a parts store. Test them out to do - just put your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector end up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black connector's side). They should be infinite ohms.
4. ECU
Our 20vt turbo (3B AAN, ABY, and ADU) engines have an ECU that has to know the speed and position of the crankshaft in order to make a decision about timing of the fuel injector, for example. It uses a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to accomplish this. If either of these sensors go badly, you will see codes on the diagnostic scanner which can lead to engine shutdown.
A malfunctioning G28 sensor could result in an inaccurate speed counter for the gearbox and a gearbox which shifts faster than normal, and/or a misfire in the gear. It is possible that your sensor is failing and needs to be replaced if you notice any of these signs. They're inexpensive and easy to locate particularly if they're a Bosch model like ours. 5. Tachometer
A malfunctioning engine sensor can cause a variety of issues in your car.
