Where Will Lightest Double Stroller Be 1 Year From Today
Lightest Double Stroller
When searching for a lightweight double stroller weight and fold dimensions are important factors to take into consideration. Choosing one that's easy to maneuver and compact when not in use makes it easier to put in the trunk of your car and navigate through airport gates and streets.
The most lightweight strollers have a light, intuitive fold and self-standing mechanism to lessen the burden on parents' bodies. Many strollers have different seating options and some are able to accommodate infant car seats.
Kolcraft Cloud Plus
Created for families who are constantly on moving. Lightweight with a convenient one-hand compact fold. The front suspension and all-terrain wheels, as well as the multi-position reclining seats, can be used for children up to 50 pounds. Trays for both children and parents along with a large storage bin and 3-tier canopy that has a windows that peek out to maximize sun protection.
The Cloud scored one of the lowest marks in our quality tests because it has a weak seat made of hard plastic and a design that is dated. It's also costly compared to other lightweight strollers, so it's not a good choice in the event you're looking for a budget alternative.
While it's not the most light double stroller, it comes with enough features to be worth a look. Its swiveling front wheel makes it easy to navigate on flat surfaces and it can leap over curbs with minimal effort unlike many other light strollers that diverge when trying to accomplish the same thing. The low handle of the Cloud is a drawback however, as it's at knee height, and not adjustable. It's not easy to push while your legs hang in that way. And the lack of padding does not make it any easier.
During testing, we found that the Cloud was simple to set up and use. It's a little more challenging to close, however; you have to slide a slider before you pull a big white button for it to collapse. It can be quite frustrating, especially if you're juggling kids while doing it.
The Cloud comes with a small but deep storage basket that will accommodate a medium-sized diaper bag. It's a little narrow however it's likely that you'll need to put something in for the back to get it back. The Cloud comes with an adult and child tray with two cup holders however, they're too narrow to comfortably hold larger bottles or cups.
Kolcraft is a family-owned business which has been operating since 1946. The first products they made were diapers and crib pads however, they now make a wide range of baby items including highchairs as well as strollers, infant car seats and toys. The company is based in Chicago and is an American manufacturer.
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS
Jeep Destination Ultralight is a lightweight double pram and pushchair stroller with a minimalist style that's perfect for traveling. It's light at 18 pounds (lighter than some single strollers!) and it folds flat for easy transportation and storage. It also comes with independently reclined seats, as well as large SPF50 sunvisors with a peekaboo view. The visors are adjustable to accommodate children of different heights. It also comes with a one-step linked parking brake and is Disney-sized approved.
The swivel wheel feature of Jeep is also ideal for maneuvering over bumps and uneven terrain. The stroller does not accept car seats, so your little ones should be at least 6 months old and have solid neck control to be able to ride in the front seat. The stroller has a three-panel sun canopy and each seat comes with a cupholder and snack tray.
Another stroller that is extremely light is the Valco Baby Snap Duo Trend. It's heavier than the Kolcraft Cloud Plus, at 23 pounds. However, it's tinier and smaller (26.5 inches wide!) It's got a lot of exquisite details that make it perfect for travel. It has a super simple fold, is extremely maneuverable and can be tucked away in the overhead compartments of airplanes and trunks easily.
The Joovy Kooper X2 tri-folds and is ultralight, similar to the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ Double or Mountain twin buggy from birth Nano Duo. It's quite similar to the Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS, however, it does have a few key differences. It's a bit more expensive, but offers a more shady sun canopy and more maneuverability. It has a convenient strap for carrying and can be used by children weighing up to 44 pounds per seat.
Summer 3D Pac for Infants CS+
Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is a lightweight stroller with lots of features. It's not only crazy lightweight at 13 pounds and offers plenty of storage space in the form of parent and child cup holders, a sippy-cup for the child pocket as well as a parent storage compartment, and more. It can also be used with the car seat of your child and features a brake that can be used flip-flop. It's designed to evolve with your children from a baby stroller to an adult stroller by attaching the car seat adapters (sold separately) and is suitable for children aged 6 months old and older.
Another thing to take note of about this stroller is that it only runs on swivel wheels and doesn't come with locking capabilities which means it won't be the best option for terrain that is rocky or hilly. It maneuvers well on paved sidewalks and other smooth surfaces, though it's an excellent choice for the majority of families.
This stroller is one of the lightest double strollers that has full-size features in a sleek, compact design. It can be folded by one hand and then put away in the trunk or garage. It is also able to be used as a travel stroller and is compatible with most car seats without the need for adapters.
The Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is different from most strollers for travel because it has two separate seats that can each support up to 100 pounds. The seats feature individual leg rests and 3-panel canopy that has an open-top sunvisor and a peekaboo window.
The seats are padded for your infant's comfort. They have a 5-point padded safety harness that adjusts to three different heights. Each seat has an infant cushion, which is ideal for infants. The cup holders for parent and child, the cellphone holder and the large storage basket will be appreciated by parents. The stroller can also be equipped with the Yoyo+ Board, which transforms it into a tandem stroller.
Joovy Kooper X2
The Kooper X2 is an excellent choice for parents seeking an easy-to-use double stroller that can carry two children. Its sling-style seats are comfortable, and they offer the same amount of headroom as other double strollers. This lets kids sit together. The Kooper X2 is unique in that it has a fully reclined seat, which makes it a great option for naps. Its recline mechanism is easy to use but doesn't go genuinely flat; taller kids might find they have a leg that hangs out of the way when sitting in a reclined posture. It also has a huge canopy which we found to be more effective at blocking out the sun than other strollers in our top double strollers review.
The stroller is lightweight enough to to maneuver through door frames. This was a major issue with other strollers we have tested. It is easy to fold and the handlebars are close to the ground. Its only downside is its relatively small storage space, which feels uncomfortable when filled with kid stuff.

During our lab tests of double strollers, we look at multiple factors to determine how easy a model is to use, such as the ease of use to fold and set up and adjust the safety harness as well as close and open the brakes, lift and carry the folded stroller like you would put it into a car trunk, and then install and remove the infant car seat (if applicable). We've also assessed the strength and durability of each model, as well as whether it has an adult tray that can accommodate both child tray.
The Joovy Kooper X2 earned the top rating for ease of use in our latest update of the top double strollers guide, and one of the top scores in our Strollers test program overall. Its easy-to use design includes one second hand double buggy, with zero tilt recline and an enormous canopy with ventilation mesh that you can see through even when it is tilted. There are also individual child trays, built-in cupholders and zipper pockets for parents, and a large storage basket.
