The best robot vacuum that mops Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as a dirt detectors) are both positives.

Make sure you regularly inspect your robot's brushes for hair tangled and large particles, and wash them when required. Some models will also empty the onboard dust bin and place it in an additional bin located at the base. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles like furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned up quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept in removing dog hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features an impressive suction system and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot vacuum robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combo uses advanced sensor technology to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones with the well-designed app. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to take off and extend its mops. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the entire house with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on different floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive designs in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score a perfect 10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a variety of sophisticated features that will let you get rid of your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot cleaner uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house depending on how dirty those areas are.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for one that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home by using the app or via voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. Additionally, a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than the price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with only one pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or create a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app also grants access to a host of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It has an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
