Origins
During prehistoric times the ancestors of modern Koreans lived on hunting and gathering wild food. Around 10,000 years ago they began to cultivate millet and beans as well as other crops. Of those who voted, 41% stated there was not enough scientific evidence to support the theory; 39% said it contradicted their religious beliefs, and 17 percent said they didn't know what it meant. This level of disbelief is comparable to that of the United States, where a majority of people are not convinced that humans evolved from earlier species of life.

Additionally, Wang Geon introduced fundamental reforms and strengthened a central rule system. This marked the closing of the Three Kingdoms period. From then on the Korean peninsula was controlled by the Goryeo Dynasty. During the Three Kingdoms Period, Goguryeo Baekje Silla slowly grew into powerful states on the peninsula as well as in Manchuria.
