Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide Towards Item Upgrades
Path of Exile item upgrader upgrades (visit the following post)
Item upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Rare-grade equipment can be superior to the more modernized Common or Magic equipment due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They boost the performance of the item they are connected to. Upgrades to armor are available in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrade components from other items.
The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the level of its upgrades. Upgrading a piece of armor to its highest upgrade level will increase its ability to absorb damage. However, it's important note that this will also increase its weight, which will cause it to be heavier than it was before.
There are a few different types of armor upgrades available in the game, and they all have different effects. For instance, some upgrades will give the armor a certain number of additional health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The type of armor upgrade items that an item will receive is indicated by the name of the upgrade as shown in the table below.
Some upgrades are magic or a mix of technology and magic which is identified by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades require charges in order to be used. They are referred to as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are updated daily or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest method of upgrading armor is to use Iron Ore, which can be obtained by exploring the area and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available from the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant boost to stats and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.
The process of upgrading an armor piece to max upgrade level will significantly increase its defense values, but the player should be aware that putting on weight will drastically reduce its agility and speed. This is why it is not recommended to upgrade armor pieces that are higher than +9 since the added defense is generally not worth the extra weight and power cost of the upgrades needed.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Some weapons also have special upgrades that improve their innate characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, minimizes the possibility of overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's velocity for greater damage) are two examples.
Most upgrades for weapons require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade to apply. These can be obtained by doing side quests, or killing a certain number of bosses or monsters, or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.
To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain amount of Bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade, the higher the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials The cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your equipment and weapon sets has changed a bit. In the past, you could seek out an Upgrade Bench and pay for a specific amount of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to a higher quality. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would be reset.
You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. It is better to purchase gear with minimal upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. These will then have a better chance of bringing you the Best item upgrader tier of benefits and blessings.
To improve their skills quicker, players usually be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. Additionally, players should consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to make them more powerful as well. Shepard for instance, should upgrade the M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are placed in the sockets of armor and weapons, increasing a stat and providing secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is a method for making them, where you combine gemstones with specific reagents on a table. The higher the grade of the jewel is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or through salvaging Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
The quality of a gem can be improved upon by the Jeweler, in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. Depending on the tier of the jewel it will give different stat boosts when inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.
All tiers of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a sufficient level to be able to get these. Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped with a identical jewel without damaging it. You can only replace the jewel once within an item upgrader of equipment.
Utilizing more jewels in a movement will make it feel smoother and is usually performed to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. The jewels also improve performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so that the repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to the movement.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your weapons and shields. These glyphs offer a small boost and can be freely swapped, but they're not guaranteed to show up as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis cannot be exchanged and can only be retrieved by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets can be used to provide your hero with many small, but beneficial, benefits. They are available in the starter area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained from vendors as well as through doing road interaction. They can also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased at the Trading Post.
The first trinket a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which gives a small but useful bonus to movement speed and evasion. The player will then be able to acquire rings, amulets and necklaces, in a similar way as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with specific types of trinkets.
These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't fighting. This allows a hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also compensate for the absence of strong team or talent tree slots that are normally filled by the hero's optimal stats.
In general trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items that you will not replace anytime soon. Next, any items with desirable stats that are less significant than the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when an item has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade as it's usually better to upgrade a single important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.
Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the beginning of the game. Top and mid players however will pick either a pink or green ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's ability to control his map.
Aside from the items mentioned above, players may also find other trinkets throughout the game in the form of trophies and awards. These can be obtained through completing certain milestones in the story, like finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. They can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
