World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats improve in value. This is the sum of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the number of perks that need to be altered to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It also serves to determine a gating condition when waiting for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a measure of the damage and quality. The level of an item can be used to compare items when examining the inventory of a vendor.

On your PC, you can check the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the item level is determined. One theory is that the level is a number that comes from a formula that determines the amount an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and that gems in sockets add to the value of the item overall. This can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual item level.

However, this is not the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, because the level of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, such as by adding an amount to its haste or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses them in various ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to a single weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stat mods on an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's skill.

The upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. A grey or white item for instance, can only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Another method to alter the stats of an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give items extra damage or special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.

At present, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with the arrows that circle. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an item that is unique, or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item level, and the item compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

item upgrader kit Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game. This is more useful in early game runs since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. They can also be increased by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that is able to deal damage by 5percent. These items can be purchased at the store or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are a costly process and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item upgrade if the upgrade fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading the item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to how much the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.

The luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. Each item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be obscured by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (stairways.wiki) CORE client config.
