Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to get stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It also features an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

With a sleek circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxes This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuums that mop we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.

It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the automatic vacuum cleaner's dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dries its mop pads.
The smart robot uses a combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home according to how dirty they are.
If you have a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you have a lot furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be very useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more intelligent than its price suggests. It is a great job cleaning, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app also gives access to a host of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. And you can create a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
