World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats are increased in value. This is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader you choose and what kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to the number of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). The average level of the item can be found on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can evaluate the level of an item. It's an excellent indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it will be capable of dealing with. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor is possible using the item level.

On PC, you are able to check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full item description, including its ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about how the item level is calculated. One theory says that the item level is calculated by a formula that calculates the worth of an item's stats actually are. It considers that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in the sockets increase the item's value. This could result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is often very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, as the level of the region the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, such as by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

item upgrader mod stats can make or break an item for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players to not restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods which are then enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, can only be upgraded one time, while an item with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Another method to alter the stats of an item is through affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give items extra damage or special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by naming them.

At present, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which of the available stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the Best item upgrader's level. However each item will have at least one stat in that range unless they are an item that is unique, or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to enhance. Like the base equipment, it must be done per item and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the chance to acquire better equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more useful in early game runs than later ones since most players prefer greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading that increase with each item level. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to increase the luck of an item, up to 140.

Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any skill that deals damage by 5percent. These items are available in the shops or made by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to how much the success rates can be improved and the probability of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%..

The luck of an item may influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25 percent and each item upgrader mod that has Luck increases this chance by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
