In our testing the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with amazon robot vacuum Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room and sweep the area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. When connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior for carpet floors with low pile.

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in an expensive robot. It's capable of sucking up all types of debris and sizes during our tests, and it often goes over the same areas multiple times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach corners and edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models such as our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. As a result, it may get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it frequently is power-depleted before returning to its home base.
