The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept in removing hair from dogs. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good deal for those whose home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used when you're at work or in school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few minutes.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, however it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best rated robot vacuum robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.
The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on how dirty they tend to be.
If you have a larger home, it's worth selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. If you have lots of furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. Additionally the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to organize an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It has a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
