World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. This value is the total of all the leveled up benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high, depending on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to the number of perks that must be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It is also used to enforce gating requirements when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

Using the item level will allow players to compare the power of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an indicator of the item's condition and quality. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when looking at the inventory of a seller.

The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full item description, including its level. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the item upgrader mod level is a number derived from a formula that calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It considers that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is typically close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, since the level of the region the item dropped in can change the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its haste or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

item upgrading stats are a big element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to motivate players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

Item upgrades add to that by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. A white or grey item for instance, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to give items additional damage or other special capabilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs) or to make them unique by naming them.

All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges similar to other rerolling methods.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the level of the item, however every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the specified range, unless it is an exclusive item or the result of a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to enhance. Like the base equipment, this must be done per item, and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more valuable in the initial game run than later ones since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be created or spawned by using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can be improved by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Additionally there are certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be outfitted to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are expensive and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade item or to stop players from losing their item if it fails.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading the item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The Luck of an item can also affect the effectiveness of an upgrade item. All items have an average success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader - killer deal - CORE client config.
