It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum cleaner best we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with a simple mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's more expensive and produce more noise.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture better. It also has strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean an area.
