1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its biggest advancement is an obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste many other robots are unable to avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to send you pictures of the objects that it encounters, so that you can tell the robot to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly and leaves no trace of it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't intelligent vacuum cleaner areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.

The design is also superior to the competition. It features a sleek, high-end piece that resembles toys rather than a loud and obnoxious robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal System also self-empties, which will reduce your cleaning time.

In our tests the j7+ performed quick to pick up and remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place, instead of scattering it on the floor. The j7+, while not as smart as the Roomba S9 for $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it can't clean the stairs, it's an option for those who want both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.

Although the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that work with robotic vacuum cleaner cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to determine whether they're working until you see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for an automated vacuum bot cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best option is probably a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also come with many additional features, including smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The negative is that they can be expensive when purchased at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.

Roborock makes some of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is the least expensive model of their auto-empty line. While it may not come with some of the premium features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories), it's still an excellent choice if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is notably soft around obstacles like tables and walls, which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in getting rid of dust bunnies which is a problem which many robot vacuums fail. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few misses in corners and on walls.

The Q5+, like other Roborock products, can be controlled by only a few buttons on your device or via the Roborock App. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go areas, modify your home map or change the room's label.

If you choose the Q5+ it comes with a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once it's installed, emptying the bin is done easily. It features a large LCD screen, which is useful when setting up schedules and altering settings. This isn't a necessity for everyone however it will aid in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design and features are among the best on the market however it's expensive.

Its base station looks good and hides it when not in use, and its dimensions are quite small. But the station's main selling factor is its ability to automate various tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot charged and clean.

Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tried that does a really good job of collecting debris from bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means that it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the house. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.

Although it doesn't provide as many in terms of cleaning-related options in its app or as many in-app shortcuts as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for an all-around great robot vacuum and mop that's worth the price price.

If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are other options available. A lot of eufy models are significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper, but offers more features, including the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, which provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors carpets with low pile, and even high-pile ones.

4. eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy, a Anker company, has a track record of producing robot vacuums that strike a good balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on carpets and hard flooring, and mopping capabilities at a reasonable price. It's easy to set it up, just snap on one of the side brush and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock must be placed near an outlet and have plenty of room to move.

The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, so it can fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious when compared to rival models. It has a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The main feature that sets the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It uses an integrated map to make a picture of the immovable items that are in its path. It remembers the items it has cleaned and where it cannot access. If it requires a recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning from where it left off.

The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring costs, charges more quickly and has the same battery life. It also offers superior performance on floors that are unfinished and low-pile carpet. It has a larger dust bin that does not require more emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be empty as often and has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
