1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They feature motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other top iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned up quickly.
Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first option. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.
It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work, or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad to a dry one in minutes.

You can modify its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on various rooms and floors with various flooring types including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.
It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum mop cleaner robot/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy models of the competition. It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings before work or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum mop cleaner robot, refills the water tank, and washes and drys the mop pads.
The smart robot employs an array of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.
Its automatic vacuum and mop has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with the degree of dirt they are.
For larger houses, it's worth opting for models with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one specific area of your home via the app or voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. Also the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is great for busy families.

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would imagine from its price. It vacuums well and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using only one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The app also gives access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive and a small base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
