It's thus susceptible to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

It's also the sole robot vacuum cleaner best vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It vacuums well, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to set up an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for better performance. The app also provides access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning robot mop and vacuum.
