The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work, or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit costly but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to live some more volume and some additional cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors.
