The best automatic vacuum cleaner robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its low cost and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they employ smart mapping to create detailed floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like furniture leg. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in removing hair from dogs. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.
It's still a great deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best rated robot vacuum robot vacuum for carpets, but it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.
This highly efficient mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire house, finishing with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different flooring types including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums it, something we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxes, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's best robot vacuum that is able to wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored a perfect 10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's going to cost you more and create more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and dries the mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the home based on how dirty these areas are.
For larger houses it's worth looking for one with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your house via the app or via voice commands. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be very beneficial.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might imagine from its price. It is a great job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to organize a spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for better performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans the area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is louder than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
