15 Reasons You Must Love Robot Hoover
The Best Robot Hoover
The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.
Make sure to check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them when necessary. Some models can also automatically empty their dust bin on board into a larger one at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top pick), they use intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it detects a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it clean quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our first option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.
It's still a good value for those whose home or office has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also quiet and can be used when you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also has strong suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robotic mop and vacuum robot vacuum for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.
This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it will learn the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.
You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did a good job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had mixed flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was great and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically empties into its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the boxy models from the rivals. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's also the only robot vacuum best vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device which could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and a little more cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the degree of dirt they are.
For larger houses, it's worth opting for one with zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house via the app or voice controls. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. Also a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is great for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would imagine from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other robot cleaner mop cleaners we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuum that mops vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, however it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we have test. It also has an app that is less intuitive and a small base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
