Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.
It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in seconds.

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it falls behind some competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.
This high-performing mop and vacuum combo uses advanced sensor technology to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can modify the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones with the well-designed app. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

3. iRobot Roomba X40
The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky units of the competition. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum best we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to set up a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
