1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They have motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also feature a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot cleaner with mop's performance when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned up quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors They are also adept in removing dog hair. They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it while you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum and mop robot Hoover (www.underworldralinwood.ca) for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time to offer better cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was superb and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.
It's also a bit costly, but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and some extra cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and dries the mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.
The automatic vacuum and mop robot cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to how dirty they are.
If you own a larger home, it's worth selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you inform the robot vacuum cleaners reviews of which area of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very beneficial.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses an oscillating motion that cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app also grants access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and under furniture more easily. It is equipped with an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that intensely cleans a localized area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It does a good job vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to get caught on low thresholds and is louder than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
