World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the item to which it is applied (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.

You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs as well as some rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance an Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The item upgrader kit upgrade system allows players to boost the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires a different number of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item upgrade is upgraded.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This can be a downside, as the item can become more expensive even if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it could waste a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). The item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly important in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of its unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapons will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any gained bonuses such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For example they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
