They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.
It's still a great option for those who want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it when you're at work or going to school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for a wet one in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, but it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our tests. The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.
As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some additional cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum cleaners best (dig this) vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot vacuum that vacuums and mops makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this was not foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

A stairway mode is useful if you own a number of furniture. Finally the recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to guide you through a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or organize a spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app also grants access to many features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
