The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of the room.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work, or going to school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a powerful suction and self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.
This top-performing combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

It did a great cleaning job on various rooms and floors with various flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming it, something hasn't been seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
This robot vacuum cleaner best vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy units of the competitors. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an easy mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's an eerily noisy device, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.
It's also quite expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some extra cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and washes and dry mop pads.
The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this was not foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the home based on how dirty these areas tend to be.
If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you own a lot furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be very useful.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would imagine from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses an oscillating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that is washable.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to set up an automatic hoover spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that intensely cleans a localized area.
