It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.
It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also extremely quiet and operates while you are at work or school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad to a dry one in seconds.

Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. 3. IRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.
Like other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry mop pads.
