Robots That auto vacuum and mop and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one session, without having to switch devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For example, you can decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only minor issue is that it can crash into walls and objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed, such as emptying debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop, is the newest version. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power which allows it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.
The Roborock model, just like the other two I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its path and clean them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
