WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit level upgrade (Full Record) Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrading by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the item level, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with a button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item upgrader mod and the current item upgrader mod level. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrades upgrader at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit and an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will be less expensive, even in the event that they are part of another set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut also, but is only available once certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be spent on equipment of a particular rank, and that each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
