10 Places To Find Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are a great option for those who wish to get mopping off their to-do list. They are equipped with impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models and makes it more maneuverable in tight corners or under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best rated robot vacuum navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through a clean.
It's very efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys or books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't produce the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to set up and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely for mopping purposes you must pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.
The device is equipped with a powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and intelligently. This will ensure an even and thorough clean and is also fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor close to the walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another notable feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
The device comes with a expensive price tag, but it is packed with a wide array of smart features. It is important to note that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every three to six months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner is rated highly on Amazon and comes with a wide array of physical automation features. These include the power button that can also function as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or someone who wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a excellent option. It has powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life that allows you to keep your home clean with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module that is equipped with an elastomer pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best automatic vacuum cleaner feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able capture the majority of hair that shed by our cats and even was able to get into the nooks and crevices of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was relatively silent and also had a few lovely jingles to indicated when it was starting or finished its work.
The biggest flaws were its lack of sophistication and the need to switch out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to hold multiple maps, which could be a pain for homes with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock that serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.
The base has a few control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the autonomous vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as a power cord draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni does not come with a "stuck" status alert in its app.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxes.
