10 Places Where You Can Find Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to cross mopping off the to-do list. Some have great mapping and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It's got a battery of 4600mAh which can last up to 170 minutes if cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It's very efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in one go. Its 8,000pa motor is able to remove dirt as well as pet hair and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull out dirt from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and utilizes 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into difficult corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to scoop up larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It doesn't make the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and is effective however this is something you'll have to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners looking to purchase an efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device has an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the home and detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and efficiently. This ensures a thorough and consistent clean and is also fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach places. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen the smell.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it must make, which will affect the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can also deactivate the side brush in order to avoid damaging carpets and rug.
This device is expensive but has many smart features. It is important to note, however, that the device is subject to periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. These include the power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home' button that will send it back to its base station after completing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who wants an organized home that doesn't require a lot of time on chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules, a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with an elastomer pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may seem a bit old-fashioned however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its Best robot vacuum cleaner UK feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able to capture many of the hair that our cats shed, and even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots had struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that signalled when it was starting or finished its work.
The biggest flaws were its simplistic app and the requirement to swap between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This could be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want an intelligent robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our review, but it also has unique features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its massive dock which doubles as a charging base and the housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.
The base also has a number of control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot vacuum cleaners uk or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are concerned about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it is entangled in a blockage, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. This was a rare incident however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its application.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
