It's thus susceptible to become stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.
It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and works while you're at work or in school. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robotic cleaner and mop vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxes this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and more attractive. If you're willing some more volume and a little more cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with the amount of dirt they are.
If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a robot that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be very useful.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might imagine from its price. It is a great job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that is washable.
