The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors They are also adept in removing dog hair. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first choice. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad to a dry one in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, but it falls behind some competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.
This highly efficient mop and vacuum combo uses advanced sensor technology to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy units of the competitors. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot vacuum that mops that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has 100% in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.
Like other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and a little more cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and washes and drys the mop pads.
