Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas objects with strong bases, such as eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or received as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they are upgraded.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to choose it and click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of item names. For example adding a Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, excluding inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important variations from previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up, but the required materials don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

When an item is leveled out, it will be able to receive a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to be given affixes that boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base type. For instance, a rare or unique weapon with a normal base will have no more than two affixes for it and a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is placed in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item is not able to attain its maximum level, the NPC will give players the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This procedure can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.

To determine the height of a structure engineers utilize an instrument to compare the measurement to an established reference point like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a vital aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item or damage, as well as other characteristics. This can be done via the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and Upgrade Item cost of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for each stat. This can be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item upgrader mod may have a unique bonus that increases the item's power by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater the chance of receiving the bonus of your choice.

The game also comes with a number of sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an item. This is a great method to give a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. This is because rerolling can offer a quicker route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach higher levels and progress in the game faster.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be arranged in different ways. They can be of different sizes, have no elements, or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.

There are a range of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others are not. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons do not boost the quality of the Best item upgrade's stats when compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you own many armor pieces or weapons.

Some set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions that can be useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to the level of the tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its features, as well as the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and jewelry offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. This will also increase the defense of armor that has an updated appearance.
