15 Reasons Why You Shouldn t Ignore Item Upgrading
Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The best way to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This allows you to upgrade your gear without having rely on expensive trades or drops. This article will teach you how to upp your gear effectively.
Upgrading equipment grants an additional bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus is based on the rarity and level of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components are the items that improve your armor and weapons better. You can find them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in items-spheres. You can also get them from equipment that has the components or through high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.
Upgrade components are mostly used to improve an item but they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked in order to increase the level or experience gained from upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can also be forged to offer additional benefits. A crafted glyph can increase the upgrade chances of its target, while boost upgrades increase the attack or defense attributes of the weapon.
Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. It will display the list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has a distinct experience multiplier, which determines the amount of experience an item gets when it upgrades with the component. For instance, organic components give more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. It is therefore best to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next rank of the equipment or weapon, and then move to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the experience multiplier every item also has an maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of items that are upgradeable is determined by their upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade they can get. For instance, the most expensive possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon of tier 10. However, the most common weapon upgrades are the tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects that all share the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the least once. The upgrade will increase the bonuses that are guaranteed. When you first upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats are enhanced even more (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an Item Upgrade is upgraded one of its stats will increase randomly.
Upgrades can also boost a weapon's damage base. This could be crucial for certain builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give a higher maximum defence roll than their base. Upgrading can be a good way to improve the value of some set and unique items, however it's important to note that they're not necessarily better than a high-level runeword in any build.
If you are upgrading an item that has an added bonus, the item can be rerolled a single time, and its guarantee will reset to 0. Rerolling will cost the same amount of power dice as bringing an item, but the new item will offer different extra bonuses. Upgrades can be completed at the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power dice of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector and can be purchased with Gold. NPCs also offer special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
If the player has enough tokens for rerolling, they can roll any item they've accumulated during the game. If an upgraded item is to be rerolled, it will be exchanged for the level 1 version of the same item from a different set. Reroll tokens can be purchased at the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They are not refundable. The new item upgraded will still have the extra bonuses of the original one however, its stats will differ too.
Players can alter the identification of equipment in addition to rerolling it by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, while keeping its basic stats and the attributes it requires. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who have the gear in question.
The player can also upgrade the level of the item for any equipment equipped. This can be done by engaging with an upgrader NPC, and then obtaining upgrade items. This will cost a certain amount of crests as well as Valorstones dependent on the upgrade track and item kind. Each upgrade will add 5% more damage to weapons.
Upgrading an item will make it more powerful, but it will also lower its quality. It is therefore essential to find a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all, while others will need to be upgraded in order to maximize their potential. A player might want to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modification ( percent block chance, or FHR) in order to see what else it can become.
Rerolling is a standard practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People do it in order to get the character or weapon they cannot otherwise get. Getting these items can be expensive and time-consuming and the RNG gods aren't always willing to play. The only options are to spend real cash or grind for a long time. For this reason, rerolling is a very popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can select whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I think it was meant to be a way to add value to rare items, but as the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded after a certain amount of levels, you'll usually replace the item before it gets too old. It's also not worth it to upgrade items that have gem sockets because the power of the gem will far outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
If you click on the upgrade option on an item, you'll see a small window with the item's upgrade template and the cost of Valorstone and crest to increase the item level. The costs will vary between armor and weapons as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to the upgraded item. It also lists its current base ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the current Ilvl of the item and the upgrade templates. The ilvl is also decreased by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For instance, an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.
The item will be upgraded to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating, in addition to the base level. The increases are also based on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template, you can check the amount of damage or defense that the item will suffer after being leveled up. This is shown below the cost and upgrade percentages. All weapons and armor, except practice equipment, get these stats once they've been leveled up. The value of these additional stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled version of a piece of armor or weapon can command significantly more trade value than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other pieces of armor, such as tiaras and circlets.
