Item upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment gives an increase in linearity of any stat.

The majority of upgrade components installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If, however, you have an unusable rune or glyph that has not yet been incorporated into your gear, you can move it to a different piece equipment by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
