Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've ever wanted to get a robot vacuum, now's your chance. CNET's best amazon vacuum-rated models will be on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts as high as 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most advanced robot to date is the Roomba J7+. Its most notable innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It uses AI to recognize objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you a picture of an object it encounters so you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills quickly and leaves no trace of it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app which lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't clean areas you don't want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off with your voice.
Its design is a step above the competition, with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robotic than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying, which is great to reduce the time spent house cleaning robot.
In our tests the j7+ performed quick to pick up and remove dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one place instead of scattering it all over the floor. It even was able to catch small gravel and sand which other robots aren't able to do. It did all without getting caught up in our pet's hair.
Although it's not as smart as the Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent option for those who require both mopping and a vac in their home. It's not expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly.
Although the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates and it's sometimes difficult to determine whether they're working until you see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the best choice is probably hybrid. This type of robot typically has a built-in water tank, meaning they can both mop and vacuum your home simultaneously. These bots also come with various additional features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be expensive at retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock makes several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not disappoint. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and although it's not equipped with some of the features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeable soft around obstacles like table legs and walls and walls, which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is an area that many cheaper robot vacuums aren't able to meet. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few missed corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled with a handful of buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. Through the app, you can start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map or change the labeling of rooms.
If you select the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place it is done with relative ease. It also comes with an impressive LCD display which is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't required for everyone, but it can help easily keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design is one of the top in the market, but it's expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require this.
And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's the only robot vacuum I've tried that does an excellent job of removing dirt from floors that aren't. It's also not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it can get stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It also can't climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great option for those looking for an automated vacuum that can do it all.
If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are other options available. Many of the eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is a bit more expensive, but offers more features, such as the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, which provides a better overall vacuuming experience on plain floors carpets with low pile and even high-pile ones.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company has a proven track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors as well as mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a reasonable price. It's simple to set up, just attach one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then plug in your charging dock. The app walks you through the steps needed to connect to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. It is recommended to keep the dock near a power outlet and ample space for it to move however.
The G30 is a small device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it can fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is a little more modest than other models, with a sleek black finish and three physical buttons such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot cleaning robots for home (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The way the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of immovable objects it encounters while retaining what it's cleaned and where it can't access. It then returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring expenses, charges faster and has a similar battery life, while providing better performance on bare floors and carpets with a low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require to be empty as often and comes with an array of boundary strips to ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating heavy materials like cereal.
