1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They feature motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in removing dog hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. During tests, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the task of cleaning a whole home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. For families that are busy, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be extremely useful.

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might expect from its price tag. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to guide you through a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map.
