Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new accessories. They can also increase the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with bases that are strong, such as the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or obtained from chests and missions. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player must select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are similar to jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be used in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the Best item upgrade they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few important ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item is able to be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up however the materials required aren't as high. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the cost of upgrades across several items.

When an item is completed and is leveled out, it will be eligible for a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it resets to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to be given affixes that increase its features. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For example the rare or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will have no more than two affixes to choose from, whereas legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item upgrader Mod is at its current level and in what slot it is placed in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item does not reach its max level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material. However it has a lower chance of success.

Engineers will use a level in order to compare the height of the building to an established point, like the benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial element of the game and can increase an item's damage, strength or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be done sparingly.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them easier for players to roll. It meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for every stat. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your requirements and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may also come with a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the better your chance of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also comes with various sets which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an item level upgrade. This is a good method of giving an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can offer a quicker route to a more powerful character, allowing them to reach higher levels and progress in the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They could be of various sizes, have no elements, or have a single element. They can be used for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways such as size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Sets of armor that offer high defense values or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the stats of the item when compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade in the event that your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already large.

Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own special functions, which can be particularly useful in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to par with the different tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the required items to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its characteristics, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternately, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.

Generally speaking, weapons and jewelry offer greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. This will also increase the defense of armor that has an updated look.
